Hi folks, I have 2 slits in my back tyre down the centre that I picked up while out today, both are approx 2-3 mm long, thankfully I had one of those self repair tubes so was able to continue. Do you think the tyre would still be road worthy or should I change it?

I would say put a new tube in and chance it. Next time you go out make sure to bring a spare tube, a mobile phone and or patches. If you get a repeat of the puncture get a new tyre, if not its ok. That's really the only way to tell.

A picture would help. Are the two tears far apart? If 2-3cm is a big enough cut and depending on the tyre I wouldn't trust having high psi.
Think of it, if your tube forces itself through the cuts, they'll explode and the air will be immediately gone, meaning your rims going to be skidding against the ground going at whatever speed your unfortunate enough to be travelling at.
20 euro for a new tire is a safer bet.

Super glue - I repair tyre slits with it all the time, works a treat. At least worth a try (deflate tyre, squeez sides where slit is to open slit, fill with glue, allow slit close, pump up as hard as you like when dry).

Thanks for the replies guys, think I'll just change the tyre to be on the safe side. Been training on plenty of hills lately and wouldn't like to get a blowout on the descent.
