measuring fields + i phone

    is it possible to download an app for measuring fields , thought i heard recently that apple are no longer using google maps and that you need some other make of phone for GPS ?

    I have two apps on my iphone for measuring area. One is Planimeter and the other is map-o-meter. Both rely on google maps. Planimeter is a bit better I think and handy for dealing with awkward shapes to fields. Saying that Map-o-meter is free.

    They won't beat having a farm properly measured with a real GPS unit but do the job for estimating size.

    Im on android and i got an app called distance and area measurement. quite basic but free. seems accurate enough also compared to what the guidance system says.

    Measure map for me think I upgraded to the pro version after
    Silage contractor doesn't bother to argue over field sizes anymore
