    Can't comment on that, but will say they have mini friers out now. I got a mini lloytron 1-man size one in powercity, takes up very little room, heats up quick so more energy efficient if you are cooking small amounts. And also needs less oil to cover the minimum level required, so costs less to get going and cheaper to replace oil if it it going off.

    Of course if cooking for several people it is not great.

    Yep, bought one of them few years back not heating up properly now was only a cheap one. Might get another uses feck all oil and heats in minutes. :)

    I view these things as disposable consumables, the elements will eventually go like a kettle. Some expensive ones might have different heating technology.

    Even if it was replaceable its not worth the effort, my mini one was something like €15. It also strangely had a thermostat that allowed you to go right down to 65C. Which might be useful for some people. e.g. you can par cook chips on at a lower temp first. Like these double or triple cook methods.
