Just wondering if there is still a break for Easter at Trinity under the new modular system - the online calendar info. makes it clear that there are multiple weeks off for Christmas, but it is much less clear with respect to Easter and/or any "Spring" breaks??

There's a 'Reading Week' in February/March which is essentially a mid-term break. Lectures end around the middle of April, while exams start at the beginning of May, so a two-ish week break. This is meant for exam study, though. All of this would, of course depend on your faculty, as some don't take a reading week, or would have it at a different time, while exams start/finish, for most people, on different dates.

So, depending on when Easter falls each year, there may only be the Easter Monday Holiday off, but not even Good Friday?

The college closes on Good Friday, so you would get both the Friday & Monday for Easter; but otherwise essentially yes, if Easter doesn't happen to fall during one of the exam study weeks then you only get those two days.

There is no specific Easter break anymore. TCD used to have three terms, and there was an Easter break between the second two, but since 2009, we've only had two terms.

This year, we actually finished on Holy Thursday so we had the Easter weekend and the two weeks after it for studying. The year before, we only got Good Friday and Easter Monday off, followed by one last week of lectures.

It's really annoying because it leaves you no time to do your assignments for the second term :(. Before, there was a three week break to write essays but nowadays (in my course at least, and several others from what I've heard), we're writing term essays and papers while we're still in classes on those subjects and while still getting normal weekly homework too.

Most courses take reading weeks (i.e. one week off) in Week 7 of each term (usually early November and early March).
