It's not a referral link. That's they link the give everyone.

    hellosign[dot]com - utc campaign = box25 (25GB Space)

I don't think you can use referrals with this promotion (Not yet anyway ;) )

    Cheers OP, grabbed this too.

Great, only flaw appears to be that you can't specify a folder to be backed up, that it just has a box.com folder. I'd like to be able to select a few folders to backup, rather than having to put them in the box folder.

    Great find though.

You should be able to do this via a junction link - assuming you are in windows for this

    information here:

    This is easier

Sugarsync allows you to backup/sync any folder on your computer. They have a magicbriefcase folder which behaves like the box folder or dropbox folder. I find sugar sync superior to the other offerings out there. Ok so they haven't given away 25gbs or such but their base offering of 5gbs free is better then most other base offerings.

Drives me daft that limit, but can't complain with the 50GB I got free with them in the past. Their Android App is fantastic too. Does Dropbox have the same limits with the free storage they give away (like with the HTC phones)?

are these websites safe, like when you upload a load of documents can anyone see them...either the company operating the site or other people who use the site!?

They are safe as any site using any sort of security. Nothing is perfectly safe but if you've a good password then you've at least done all you can to secure the data and no one else should be able to get at it but there's always the possibility. Dropbox had a security breach in the past week
    http://www.bgr.com/2012/08/01/dropbox-security-breach-stolen-passwords-internet/

    Nothing is perfect.

There's a thread somewhere else about that, i think it's actually here somewhere, spideroak, and another one Wuala referral threads, both claim to be highly encrypted and confidential.

Not too sure where Spideroak is based, Wuala is France. I don't think the American ones are as encrypted, i think they allow third parties and staff to view them, therefore leaving them open to anyone really. But all the same, good for storage.

They're almost all encrypted to some level or another. You can compare most from here:

True, But i read somewhere (Probably here) that The U.S. ones allow Government and staff to view files by law, to deter/prevent pirating.

Spideroak seems to be the best. and Wuala stores it's key on your PC, so it's harder for anyone to get it. Nothing is impossible ;).

Feck all of them have Personal Encryption.
Personal Encryption - The user needs to manage their own encryption key or password. If they lose it, there is no way to access the data. The service provider cannot access the user's data even if required by the government.[77][78] Backup service providers often claim that no one can access the users data even though they themselves could if forced to do so, so entries claiming support of this feature should always have a supporting reference. If the backup service has a password recovery or reset mechanism that allows a user to access their data when they lose their password or key, that proves they do not have personal encryption.
