    Hey all,

Took a look at a 2007 1.4 TDCI Ford Fiesta today. Mileage is 59K and the price is €6k. Car is well maintained with an older gentlemen owning it before. Injector seals are a problem on this engine but the engine sounded good on tick over. She drove well, plenty of pull from such a small engine and good and solid

I do a 260 mile round trip every week, my budget is 6k.

Question: Is this a good deal?

Cheers everyone. Hope your having a great long weekend :)

    Will.

Motorcheck/cartell it and besides that all you can do it check out the service history and have a mechanic you trust give it a once over, no half measures as private is sold as seen

    Hey Jimbob,

Cheers for the reply. Was onto motorcheck. It will be sold from a garage with a three month warranty (I know that's not much but its something).

260 miles a week is not alot of driving. Why do you think you need a diesel especially in a small car like the Fiesta which even the petrol engines are frugal and don't suffer the same injector seal problems of the diesel version?

    Hey

Well its 260 mile round trip at the weekend from work to home. The car will be parked for most of the week as I rent close to work.

    Cheers

If I would drive on M and N roads only with that kind of mileage, I would look for bigger car with petrol engine without spending all of my budget. It will be more comfortable and reliable.

Look at cars like unless you are restricted by engine size.
    - focus 1.6
    - mazda 3 1.6
    - mondeo 1.8
    - mazda 6 1.8
