change mains tails

    In an older house, old type fuseboard, if you were to install a 9.5kw electric shower with 40a RCBO, should the mains tails need to be changed from 10sq?

    Yes. They should be a minimum of 16 sq. mm.

    I would recommend that you change the distribution board also.
