A bit of a problem

I have an icecrypt s2000cci and when my cyfra card expiredd in May, I had no reason to switch the receiver on.

When my new cyfra card arrived I tried it but it says no signal.

I've checked all the connections inside and out and they are fine.

Level is reading 72% however quality is showing nothing. I do a scan and nothing is found..

I don't think the dish has moved.

Another thing is that when I switched the receiver on I had to set the time and date, as it had gone back to 1 Jan 2008 00:00. However the receiver is not holding it, basically every time I switch it off and back on again the time and date have gone back to 2008. I don't know if that's related or a separate issue.

I've never attempted to update firmware or anything like that.

I'm just wondering if there's something obvious I should be checking before I get someone out.

If you have another receiver stick it in and scan that Cyfra tp that you are having bother with.

If that tp does not work on the second receiver theres probably a problem with your satellite outside itmay have moved or something.

On the other hand if the tp signal is grand on that TP there is an issue with your icecrypt receiver.

Thanks, did what you said and there was no signal at all on my other receiver, an ariva.
Checked the connections again and found one that was rusted outside, replaced and checked the signal once more.
Still no good, so one last check on the other receiver and it worked, good strong signal.
Tried a factory reset on my icecrypt and bang, back in business. I was only a few minutes away from calling someone who knows more about this stuff, so I managed to save a few quid.
