Hey all, the following happened to me last night:
The shower cut off after about 10 minutes use.
The switch for the shower in the hot press was quite warm to touch
The switch for the shower had tripped at the fuse board.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I took the switch apart this morning and all the cables look ok. Would I be right in thinking that the motor for the shower might be on the way out and has caused a surge or something similar, causing the mcb to trip?

    Thanks

usually either damp or 'heater tank' fault causes that tripping

the hot shower switch may need replacing also, and relocate it to a more suitable location if possible

Not a good sign. Do not ignore this, it is a potential fire hazard.

The switch for the shower had tripped at the fuse board.
Leave it off or switch it off and get a an electrician to look at it.
I would say a new switch is a must (MK is best IMHO).

The chances are the Triton unit itself is faulty.
The good news is these units can be serviced.
    M cebee's assessment sounds accurate.
