You can do that. You can also get it sent to a smartphone or if your phone can open pdf's. You can just check-in at the airport, its fre and generally efficient outside the transatlantic flight window.

Email the PDF to yourself, then go to a computer with a working printer, open your email and then print the PDF.

You can of course wait until you go to the airport, but the above method helps to avoid any possible queuing at the airport.

Or alternatively use dropbox/google drive/thumb drive.
E-mailing something to yourself is a pet peeve of mine :).

You can check-in online, select a seat and then elect to pickup the boarding card from one of the (green) kiosks in the airport, you don't have to go to a desk.

If you have an iPhone you can check in using the Aer Lingus app.

Slight OT. How do you check in with the app if you booked more than one person on flight, travelling as couple etc..

You can download multiple boarding passes no problem, each one is a PDF file that you print locally or just elect to print them from one of the kiosks in the airport. When you go to check-in it will give you a list of the passengers on the booking and you check-in and select a seat for each person.

That's true for web checkin; not on the app. I've never tried checking in on a multiple person single-reference ticket on the app to see what it does but I believe it only shows one barcode - e.g. one person.

Sorry, didn't spot the reference to the 'app'.

Had this yesterday. Was home visiting family and discovered their printer was bust. I just checked in and (I think incorrectly) selected "generate boarding pass" (instead of looking for the "print at kiosk" option.

I tried to retrieve them at the kiosk to no avail but the AL lad just let us all go straight to the bag drop queue to get them printed off there and there was no fuss (we had bags to drop anyway but he didn't ask about them).
