"This picture cannot be displayed" - Lumix

I bought a new Lumix camera and new SD card recently and used it for the first time last night at a wedding.

Some of the photos (all in a row) are not viewable on the camera. It keeps saying "this photo cannot be viewed" or something like that. When plugged into the pc, those pictures are not recognized by windows.

Originally after taking the photos last night, I was able to go in and look at them. So they were working at one stage. It was only this morning that they didn't work. Some of the photos worked fine.

Has anyone ever had this problem and how did they fix it? I tried 3 different recovery tools and none of them worked.

Would it be a problem with the SD card? It was only new and it is a good brand. It worked at one stage. Why would it stop working?

I've spent 5 hours trying to fix this. Has anyone any ideas? Would it be worth bringing it to a camera shop and if so, does anybody have any recommendations in the Dublin area?

I really have no idea. We took about 5 photos and they worked. Then we took about 30 more and they can't be viewed now, although they could initially. We took another 25 or so after and they are working.

I wasn't messing around with the camera. Herself tried to focus in on one or two but wasn't able to figure it out. I don't think she changed anything, because it worked again afterwards.

    I dunno. It's very annoying.

I don't know what Raw is! Would it be possible to change the settings on the Lumix though to take pictures on Raw if the camera isn't able to view the pictures on that setting?

What happens when you plug the SD card into a PC? Do the missing photos still show up as files with a .JPG extension? Do they have file sizes similar to the working photos?

Can you copy them off the SD card onto your local hard drive without any error occurring?

Can you open them in any editing software, other than the standard Windows photo viewer?

When I plug the SD card into the pc, I had see the files when I open my computer but I cannot open them. They are .jpeg files. They are around the same size as other photos that have worked, although some are a little smaller.

I can't copy the unusable files onto the PC from the sd card....... Actually, I just tried again. The bigger files can copy across but still don't open. The smaller files will not transfer.

I tried all the photo viewers, etc that I could find. None of them are working.

I was on to Harvey Norman and they told me to bring the card back in to them. All they'll do is replace it though. I found my receipt by pure chance.
