So just got a call for an interview, at 5 this evening...

So I was just thinking of Jeans, Shirt, Tie, Jumper and Dress Boots...Or should I be wearing suit pants and shoes?

Will that be ok? Its only a part time position in a health food store...

Wear a suit. You need to give the impression that you will act in a professional manner with customers and not rob the shop owners money from the till.

Just find it strange that you(as a man) have to wear the exact same thing for every interview with no differentiation for differing job titles.

    Store Manager - Suit
    Assistant Manager - Suit
Part Time Store Associate - Suit

Always wear a suit. Always always always.

You'll never be punished for over-dressing, but under-dressing is a risk. And it's a risk not worth taking.

You never know how the interviewer might personally feel about this matter - so if you're serious about getting the job, better to be safe than sorry.

(Jeans and a jumper at a first interview sounds to me like a pretty awful idea, btw.)

I think a suit is over doing it, the teacher look is perfect!

P.S. I once went for an interview, wearing jeans, a jumper, a shirt and tie and good shoes, and the interviewer said to me "For your own sake, I'm telling you this. Always wear a suit to an interview - always."

Whether you agree with that or not is neither here nor there. You're trying to give the interviewer what they want, not what you think they should want. Wear the suit in future.

+ 1 , you'll never go wrong in a suit and if you happen to be overdressed well that is a ton better than being underdressed.

Never wear a tracksuit to an interview - you may think that states the bleeding obvious but on more than 1 occassion people here have said they have an interview for a sportswear shop and should they wear a tracksuit as to ' fit in ' - unreal.
