Read this article in the Irish news yesterday. (dunno if the link will work as the Irish News is a paid for website.)
Basically it's calling on Ulster counties to unite and form one team to end the relentless slaughter of Ulster sides in the championship.
The justification he gives is "Would Down fans have been prouder leaving Mullingar after a 22 point hammering to Clare than they would have been had there been a few Down players on an Ulster side that just beat Clare by a point?"
Hard one to call. Armagh arent going to win the All-Ireland, or even Ulster any time soon, but I've been quite proud of the progress theyve made in the likes of the Nicky Rackard cup and challenging teams like Down and Antrim.
    What say ye?

It's a novel idea & I suppose could be implemented in Connacht aswell.
I suppose the biggest problem would be which is more important to a player,Training for a Rackard cup with his county or a Championship game with the province.

I Think if the GAA put a little bit extra into the marketing and promotion of the Rackard/Meagher & Ring competitions it would be better.

I think the GAA need a task committee to restructure club hurling with a view to develop new clubs.

In certain counties where hurling is weak they should get a catchment area of 4 or 5 clubs and start a new hurling club in that area.Start with underage and in a few years if you can add another 3 or 4 clubs to a county it would in turn make the game stronger and more popular
