About to tile shed roof. It slopes from back to front. Just wondering about the edge tiles as in is there any recommendations or rules in regards to do you start with a full tile or work out from centre to have equal cuts on either end?

Tile in question is a double roman if it makes a difference.

i would usually take measurements and start from the center and work out the position of the first full tile,so that the end of every second row ends up with a half tile each time

    hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. The tiles are double roman tiles as in the link.

I just finished the battons and done a dry run. I have a full row of tiles without cutting with an end result of 45mm overhang on either end. As the tiles stack one on one all the way to the top would this be enough overhang either end?

i would say thats plenty because i presume that your going to be doing the barges (i.e the eaves) in concrete

I need to replace a single broken double roman roof tile. My problem is, it is at the edge and needs to be cut. How do you cut concrete tiles ? or can I buy one already cut ?

    Thanks.

well we would usually cut them with a con saw or if that weren't available an angle grinder with a disc for cutting stone

What was/is the pitch/angle of the roof???

If its too low/shallow,then you will have water ingress from wind driven rain.
