    Hi,
Im going to have to work long hours for the first 6 weeks of term and then shorter hours after that.

For the first 6 weeks I will be working long hours.

5pm-3am Friday (Assuming timetable doesn't clash) and Saturday 5PM - 2AM Sunday, 5pm to 1am Monday and 5pm to 11pm on Wednesdays. Thats 43 hours for the first few weeks. Has anyone done anything like this and how difficult is it?

After the first 6 weeks I will just be working the Friday and Saturday. Im assuming that wont be too difficult.

But has anyone done longer hours and how difficult was it?

    Thanks

What course are you doing and where?

I'm sure it's possible, but I wouldnt advice it. Something will suffer, either your degree or your job.

Depending on your degree and your career path, one may be more important.

It's not worth it. It recommended by colleges that you work no more than 10 hours a week. Personally I'd say 20. By the looks of your workload you'll be wiped out Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday and will have no time to review your notes at all during the week.

6 weeks is the first half of the semester. If you're sure you can catch up and it won't affect and continuous assessments or exams then go for it, if you think your grades will suffer then ask for fewer hours.

You won't be going to classes on mondays thats for sure.

For the first semester of my masters (Engineering) I was working
    5pm - 1am Fridays
    11am - 5pm, 8pm - 4am Saturdays
    6pm - 1am Sundays

After 8 or so weeks I think I gave up working on sundays because come monday you're just shattered. When assignments need doing late semester you just need a day off aswell. Also because I couldn't study on weekends I had to make up for it by staying in college until 10-11pm most weeknights. The lack of social life and exhaustion will get to you. Add to this the stress of assignment deadlines and your life will be hell. I was working in a bar so at least I was still somewhat social, but I remember being in a bad mood for most of the semester and absolutely hating work because it was detrimental to college work.

Depends on your course though. If its a small workload it could be possible, but 43 hours is alot while doing a full time course. You're hair will probably start to fall out aswell if it hasn't already, seriously.
