What should I do?

I payed for an item from a Polish web store, upon further research it was not what I wanted (the description was un-clear but not misleading). I emailed them to cancel the order the next day, but then I received an e-mail saying it had shipped. They then recalled the item from the courier, taking the cost from me.

Now I have payed 80€ and recived 15€ back, haveing spent 65€ and received nothing.

I payed with paypal, should I dispute this? I tried to cancel the order before the item shipped. I would prefer if the seller split the cost with me, as I did try to stop them posting it.

disputing with Paypal probably would not do any good - your issue is with the costs of cancellation levied

Have you read through the T's & C's on their website?

They recalled the item in good faith, perhaps they should have consulted you first regarding the cancellation costs (if they are not on their website), but its probably something you need to put down to experience..

How much was the initial shipping cost on the item in their online store?
I find it hard to believe that the shipping cost is €65 and the item cost €15.
Shipping cost may not be refundable unless it was advertised as free shipping, but the full item price is most definitely refundable.

20 shipping, then a large fee to return to sender, before it arrived with me.

Looks like your being ripped off.

Where you provided with a tracking number from the sender? If yes, it will have the information that the shipment was redirected back to the sender when tracked.

Untracable mail is nearly impossible to redirct for 1 packet, so if no tracking info is produced and the sender(s) claim that it was redirected the need to prove it, Receipt for redirection cost, tracking info etc...

I wonder if they even shipped the item that day and just told you it was shipped and when you requested to cancel the order, they made up a farce story about mail redirection and covering loss costs. If this adds up, open a paypal case and have the full payment seized because you would have an excellent chance of winning.

The tracking number indicates that the parcel arrived in dublin and was redirected back to the origin address. It is just a very expensive 'service' is all.

Ah I see, you might still have a chance with Paypal if you were not told about bearing the redirections cost (if applicable) in a cancellation by the seller or in the T&C since you never recieved the goods.
