Have I screwed it up?

I think I've screwed up a potentially great opportunity. I made an application to a college for a course and they initially required by exam transcripts. I didn't send them the original transcripts at first and instead wrote it up myself to let them know what grades I got over several years.

They have since asked for original transcripts now that I've been accepted for a place.

However, I've now realized that I didn't copy exactly. For example; in my Leaving Certificate results, some of them are a grade or two up while another is a few grades lower than I got. In addition, my college transcripts, 2 of the 13 results are skewed upward by 10% all because I wrote them up myself in a hurry to get my application in on time (given I had only a few hours left to apply). I had good grades already, I didn't need to upscale them at all.

They have repeated to me that my accepted offer is completely conditional upon accurate information provided during the application process. But because of my hastiness and errors, I fear they'll view this as a deliberate attempt to skew the results in my favour and hence reject my application which will kill me to be honest as I really want this. There was absolutely no conscious attempt made by myself to deliberately skew the results and now I fear losing the place. All the evidence is against my position at this point and I don't know where I should go from here.

Has anyone any advice on what I should do from here? Should I keep quiet and hope for the best or let them know in advance of getting my original transcripts?

    Hi OP,

I'd say send in copies of your transcripts with a letter explaining that when you were making your application you didn't have access to the transcripts (maybe say they were at your home address or something) and so, had to enter them in from memory. Outline exactly which ones you got wrong. Then apologise for your error and say you hope it doesn't cause them too much inconvenience. Explain briefly that you would love to do the course and why.

I was applying for a course at the end of December and they said the closing date for transcripts was the second week in January. I didn't get them in for a week or two after and just apologised in the letter. It was fine in the end.

    Best of luck!

OP, I'm gonna +1 purplepapillon's suggestion. I'm sure they'll understand if you do this, you certainly wouldn't be the first to make an error when imputting information.
