    Hi all.

    Renewal time, always fun!

I'll be trying all the usual suspects (AA, Chill, Alllianz, NoNonsense, etc) but there's always a chance I'll miss one or two who might be suited more to performance cars or covering males.

Any and all recommendations are welcome!

    Thanks :)

Have you tried Setanta? I've been with them for the last two years, and they were by far the best price I've come across. I'm happy with them, might be worth giving them a call ;)

Anything wrong with XS-Direct apart from the excess? I don't mind having a €1000 excess for the price they're offering.

I was with them for 1 year a while back, the policy they were offering back then didn't earn you a NCB so just check that out beforehand.

123.ie seem to be cheap, underwriters are RSA.

    Unfortunately 123 couldn't help :)

I heard the same thing about XS Direct alright, but I did ask the broker who gave me the quote today and he said that they do offer standard NCB, so my current 2 years NCB would be up to 3 years this time next year.

Here is my recent check list for insurance on an fto:
They were almost all "no quote available", but then that's on an fto.

    one direct
    fbd
    zurich
    allianz
    aon
    tesco
    quoteme.ie
    AA
    no nonsense
    chill
    chartis direct
aviva. Got online quote of 437, when registration was entered. Could not select fto (galant was closest). Rang them direct and they don't quote.
topquote (sent an email with a quote of €2,200 a few days later)
    pibasure
    lynksey ryan (very helpful lady)
    aib (aviva)
britton (pending 24 hours referred, but expect no quotes) (they quoted over 2k a few days later)

    First Ireland - 01/8820800

They have been nothing but good to me since I started with them. Renewal on the RX8 was €1400 with my insurer at the time. First Ireland got me a quote with Setanta for under €1000. When I got the MPS they sent me back €130 :D

    What do you drive op?
For performance stuff I've found arachas to be brilliant, especially when you want to modify

Best quote so far is €1286 with XS-Direct through Top Quote Direct. Talk about a tonne of rejections :)
I think it's worse than last year!

First Ireland and Arachas both brought in XS-Direct quotes, but about €200 higher than the above.
