I have the main HTPC in the living room with XBMC and netflix on it.

I would like to get a diskless unit/player for viewing XBMC and netflix in the other sittingroom and one of the bedrooms. (media due to be on NAS when it arrives from amazon.) What would people recommend?

Would i be best to get one for those small android plug in sticks or better off getting an apple tv and jailbreaking it (have not a clue on how to jailbreak one - i have never owned an apple product - but would be willing to give it a go if it was the best option for me)

My only requirements are that i would be able to run XBMC and also use netflix.

Any other ideas would be welcome.

Apple TV gen2 wins hands down! Small and a great UI. XBMC works flawlessly.

If you're looking for something very cheap go with Raspberry Pi or Android on a stick. XBMC has just been released for Android, no hardware acceleration yet but it's being worked on and should be here within weeks.

there's no mpeg2 support in xbmc on raspberry pi (and never will be due to a lack of a hardware decoder and not enough power for a software one) and neither raspbmc nor openelec can match the more established builds like the apple tv or the windows & linux versions, so i wouldn't be counting on a Pi replacing your HTPC just yet, but i guess in time it could.

also 720p and 1080p isn't 100% stable yet either for all the types of HD content you'd find online, so you'd most likely be disappointed there too. only about half of my HD content plays on the Pi in either version of XBMC available for it.
