I hope they are very sure that the owner of the silver 626 isn't just some farmer with animals in the area!

Apart from that, that's fairly nuts stuff.

This has been going on almost since the trail opened. I remember reading about it last summer on some of the Irish MTB sites.

What I can't understand is how the person hasn't been seen/caught yet

Have to agree, I don't think it's a good idea to be mentioning a car, surely the reg could be taken if the owner of the car is known / thought to be involved.
Either way it's bang out of order trying to cause harm to cyclists, I don't know the track in question is it a dedicated mountain biking track or just a normal track up the mountain?

If it's the red barn mentioned in the article it may not be the dedicated MTB track. I'm guessing it's the now very eroded tracks from the red barn which zig zag after the stream and up across a felled area to the kilmashogue road / wicklow way corner. If that's the case it's of much broader concern to all users including young and old walkers, horse riders etc. That's not excluding the possibility as sparrowcar mentions that it is also happening on the dedicated MTB tracks where the liklihood of a serious injury would be much greater
