Driving test cancelation list

Just wondering has anyone used the cancelation list to get their driving test early? How does it work? I applied for my driving test but current waiting list is 10 weeks can't afford to wait that long so the cancelation list was suggested to me. Any help advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Just ring the rsa on 1890 406040 and request a cancellation date. The more often you ring looking for a date the better. But remember, you can only reschedule twice!

I don't know if this is still relevant for you but I applied for a cancellation online, I rang a few days later to see if it was possible to find out where I was on the list and I was given a date for less than a week later (rang last Friday - have test tomorrow!). Given the backlog they are trying to fill in all possible gaps so if you do ring don't expect much of a waiting time!
