High RPM on Ford Fiesta

More to get an opinion on anything, I'm a noob to motoring...:o

2004 1.25 Ford Fiesta, seems to be running grand, I generally bring it on the motorway twice a week going between Dublin/Galway. I mentioned to my flatmate who has a 03 Focus 1.4 (bigger engine, granted) that when I'm on top speed @ 120kph, I get RPM of about 3500-3700. If I went up to 130, it'd be up on 4000. He thought that seemed to be quite high, he'd get 2500 in his Focus.

    Any opinion/knowledge? Cheers.

Unless your clutch is slipping, it is what it is. :)

Different gearing. Fiestas not exactly built for autobahn mile munching.
    I doubt he'd be at 2500 in a 1.4 03 Focus at 120kph. 3000 I'd say. At least.

I have similiar revs on 1.4 Renault, nothing to worry about. Just turn volume up on the radio and enjoy the music...
2500 in Focus - not saying it is not, but for such a small engine it is unlikely to happen. Think there was a thread months ago where people posted their revs at speed. Worth having a look there to see what the norm was.

    Didn't know a 1.4 Focus could reach 120km/h...

A number of 1.4 Focii there, all saying around 3,500 rpm.

The first poster with Focus 1.4 claimed he did not reach 120 yet, :D

There's a chance the actual gearbox ratios are the same but the fact that the fiesta has smaller wheels/tyres means it has to rev higher to go at the same speed. (a bit, not 1300 rpm haha)
