Any 1 box that'll have Irish & Uk channels, record both & EPG

    Hi,
    Any solution to replacing my UPC with 1 box that'll give me Irish & UK channels, allow me to record and give me a tv guide (EPG)?

    If not what's the best/closest solution?

    As far as I know, there isn't a box which will give a full EPG with both, as different systems are used, and it's very difficult to integrate the two. The Triax TSC114 is Saorview approved, and also has a satellite tuner, but only has a full Saorview EPG, no UK interactive. You'll only be able to record one thing while watching another if they're from different sources.

    Best solution would be to get a Saorview approved box, and a FreeSat + box, and a Logitech Harmony remote control which would allow an easy switch between the two.

    I suppose the UK channels I want are the BBCs, Channel 4. And others are just a bonus really.

    The only all-in-one unit which would give full EPGs on both services would be a custom HTPC but setting it up isn't exactly easy.

    The Linux based boxes (Dreambox, Vu+ etc) will also do a combined EPG for both, recording on internal HDD, streaming etc.
