What shows would you take from what station , to make a super station. Also add what times you would give the shows

    for example .

Ian dempsy breakfast - Today Fm 7-10
    Limerick Today - Limerick's Live 95fm 10 - 12
    ETC....

I've mixed up the presenters' time slots a little but........

6:30-10 : The Chris Moyles Show (BBC Radio 1)
    10-1pm: Sara Cox (Radio 1)
    1pm-4pm: Paul Bonass (SPIN 1038)
    4-7pm: Scott Mills( Radio 1)
    7pm-10pm: Ryan & Tracy (SPIN 1038)
10pm-12am: iTest with Louise Clarke ( iRadio)

If I could do one it would be

6-10 - chris moyles and or scott mills ( Bbc Radio)
    10-12 Joe Nash ( live95fm) and Joan lea ( 98fm) talk show
    12-3 Ray Foley (Today Fm)

Put Kevin Myers up against Joe Duffy, same time slot.

Off the top of my head...
For a primarily music-driven station with an 18-35 audience

0600-0900 Richie McCormack & Michelle Doherty (Phantom)
0900-1200 Mid-morning with Mary McGill (talk & music)
1200-1430 The Ray Foley Show (Today FM)
    1430-1600 Chat & Tunes with Rick O'Shea (2FM)
    1600-1900 Dermot & Dave (98FM)
    1900-2200 K.C. & Lenny (Today FM)
    2200-0100 Fergal D'arcy (iRadio)

Some of the suggestions are scary- all they are missing is ryan tubridy to make them hell- maybe the current radio schedulers are'nt so bad. The Ray foley guy in the middle of any schedule makes me wonder for mankind but I guess the point of the question is subjectivity! I doubt my choice would suit to many others though so here goes:

    7-9 Morning Ireland.
9-10 Newstalk (maybe Ivan Yates could return for this)
    10-12 PK.
12- 2 Radio Nova for some music.
    2-4.30 Sean Moncrieff on Newstalk.
    4.30 - 7 Matt Cooper.
    7-10 Off the ball.

7-9 back and forth between newstalk and morning Ireland dependent on story.

    9-12 Neil Prendeville

    12-1 newstalk

    1-1.45 rte news at 1

    1.45-3 lahvline

    3-4.30 Moncrieff

    4.30-7 Matt Cooper

    7-10 Off the Ball

    Tony Livesey 24hrs a day .

06:00-10:00 - KC and Lenny (Today FM, reprising their breakfast show from RED FM)
    10:00-12:00 - Alison Curtis
12:00-15:00 - The Ray Foley Show (Today FM)
    15:00-17:00 - Nikki Hayes
    17:00-19:00 - Stevie G (RED FM)
19:00-22:00 - Tom Dunne (Newstalk, reprising his Pet Sounds show)
22:00-01:00 - Paul McLoone (Today FM)

I'm not particularly happy with the 10am slot or the 3pm slot, I reckon there're better people out there, but these are the two that come to mind.

It would be a largely music driven station.

In my defence, in the afternoon, I would have a music-dominated show and I think Paul Bonass is the best of an average bunch on SPIN in terms of fronting a music show with quick links.

    9pm-1am : FM104's Phoneshow with Adrian Kennedy

Any schedule that replaces Joe Duffy as presenter of Liveline with Philip Boucher-Hayes.

    Great format, diabolical presenter.

And get rid of Mooney and Brek while your at it.

My own daily schedule is something like this:

    06.00- 07.00 Risin' Time RTE 1

    07.00-09.00 Morning Ireland

09.00-13.00 varies a lot, usually flick around or more often than not have the radio off.

13.00-13.45 News at One RTE 1

13.45-15.00 Liveline, though I rarely listen to it now, totally gone off Duffy using it as his personal soapbox.

    15.00-16.30 Moncrieff

16.30-19.00 Drivetime, mixed with Matt Cooper, usually Drivetime if Boucher-Hayes is doing something.

19.00 - 24.00 any sports programme, a lot of John Creedon and a lot of obscure stuff on the internet, BBC World Service, Deutsche Welle, RFI etc etc

Interesting to note that only one dj from 2fm has received a vote.

I don't listen to RTE radio... have on previous occasions and find it a waste of license money

Can you think of one excellent presenter on 2FM? Me neither. That station needs someone to come in and do a Bannister to the schedule, it is not a surprise that it is haemorrhaging listeners.

I'd go for something like this...
5am John Creedon/Lilian Smith (Easy listening music)
7am Newstalk Breakfast (with Ivan Yates back)
    9am Sean Moncrieff
    11am Pat Kenny
    1pm News Sean O'Rourke
1.30 Tom Dunne (more music than currently on his show)
3pm Tony Livesey (same lighthearted show as on 5Live)
5pm Talk-Drive Show with Matt Cooper and Peter Allen
7pm Off the Ball (with 5live comm on big games)
10pm Bob Harris (his weekend show on BBC Radio 2)
1am Up All Night with Rhod Sharp and Philip Boucher-Hayes (on alternative nights)
Brief News, sport, weather every hour.

Hmmm, dream radio. What a nice thread concept!

Breakfast show would be lyric, but not the current clown, basically anyone else from lyric fm could do it, from 7 to 9.

Then graham norton from radio 2 UK.

Love the previous suggestions of philip boucher hayes, he can come in before lunch.

    Alison Curtis of course.

I know not everyone's fav, but I've always liked Dave Fanning, especially on movie reviews. No chat with people, but for music and movies he would be on there in the afternoon.

    Then Matt Cooper's show.

Night time would be blue of the night with carl corcoran, or jazz alley.

    Mine would be:

5am-7am- Pure music on lyric FM, not too bothered by the presenter (just not Marty fecking Whelan)
    7am-9am- Morning Ireland
    9am-11am- Pat Kenny
    11am-1pm- The Lyric Concert
    1pm-2pm- News at 1
2pm-4.30pm- The JK ensemble on Lyric FM
4.30pm-7pm- Matt Cooper The Last Word
7pm-9pm- Off the Ball, not a football fan but I enjoy the banter the lads have.
9pm on- I love Blue of the Night with Carl Corcoran on Lyric and would have that for the rest of the night.

I'll probably have a very different list tomorrow but first instinct would be

7am Morning Ireland with David Hanley & Cathal MacCoille
    9am Ray Darcy
11am a PK type show but with Myles Dungan
    1pm Ray Foley
    3pm Sean Moncrief
5pm News show with 2 of Rachel English, Philip Boucher Hayes and Matt Cooper (on rotation)
    7pm Off the Ball
9pm Music (mainly John Kelly (Lyric) but occasional guest spots for Alison Curtis/Tom Dunne/Creedon).

7-10: Never awake that early, morning Ireland maybe
    10-12: Phat Kenny
    12-1:30 Afternoon on Newstalk
    1:30- 4:30: Moncrieff
    4:30-7:00: Last Word
    7:00-10:00 Off the Ball

If I ever bribe a politician to get a mobile phone license and then become rich enough to start up a radio station this is what I would do.

06.00-10.00 Music from The Q Man, I don't like talk in the morning.

10.00-13.00 Current Affairs broadcasting hosted by Vincent Browne.

13.00-19.00 Moncrieff, he takes over the evening drivetime slot along with lunchtime news. There shall also be a daily booze slot between 3 and 4. Obviously there can't be movies and booze every day so now there will be slots like books and booze, Andrea Pappin and booze, parenting and booze etc..
Paolo Tulio needs to be utilised more also.

19.00-22.00 OTB and the football show in its current form.

    22.00 onwards I'm still undecided.

    5am hazel Fleming
    8am Chris moyles
    11am Sean moncreif
    2pm john Holmes
5pm Dublin 103.2 drive [the music is class]
    7pm Annie mac
10pm Chris and ciara cracked I
2am Craig Charles rotating with Janice long, radcliff and marconi, Elaine page, Annie nightingale.
    4am this American life.

Weekends will have fergal darcy, smodcasts, off the ball, fighting talk, women's hour, wtf with mark maron, Simon mayo, Steve wright, comedy programmes from radio four, frank skinner, gerry Ryan replays, bbc six music documentaries.
That's a radio station in my head.

    Great question.

    In no particular order...

Adam & Joe (from BBC radio 6)

Joe Duffy/liveline (for the pure entertaiment)

    Off the Ball (from Newstalk)

I'd have a traffic slot / drive time show with John Neary (from Live drive on Dublin City FM) He's got potential

If I had a limitless pot of money I'd pay Armando Iannucci and Steve Coogan to produce quality radio comedy show

I'd have no Sunday Supplement crap (upper class snobbery), no dreadful perky morning show

    Probably Donal Dineen

    And Derek Mooney (Only joking)
