    Hey everyone,

    Just wanted to let you know about this year's Salute! show for anyone that might be interested:
    Salute! 2012 returns to The National Show Centre in Swords.

    See all of your favourite Vehicle and Living History displays and the return of our vehicle driving arena.

    Nowhere else in Ireland can you see the 63 Ton Chieftain show off it’s driving abilities!

    We’ll also have other armoured vehicles including the 432 APC and 434 Engineer’s vehicle. Fox armoured car, Jeeps, Trucks, Land Rovers and more!

    Hope to see you there.

    As many as we can :)

    Ex-Irish military vehicles are very difficult to come by, mainly because the Irish Defence Forces do not (or very rarely) sell surplus vehicles to the public.

    Definite vehicles I know will be there;

    Ex-Irish Army ACMAT artillery tractor, now rebuilt in Desert configuration.
    Ex-Irish Army Willy's CJ3B - A recent barn find, due for restoration but should be on display as part of the history of Willy's vehicles.

    The defence forces are also invited to attend, but with budgets being tightened it can be difficult to get a display at public events.

    If there's anyone out there with an Irish vehicle they wish to display, please do get in touch.

    Have a read of the Manual of Military Writing, it's not pedanticism. There's already a 67 Bn, what will you be?

    Or even the Manual of Staff Duties, in which there is a chapter called Military Writing, how is that for pedantic?

    Hi All,

    Since the typical Irish summer has been a little worse than usual this year, we now have a large section of Salute! indoors. Wind, Rain or Snow (it's possible :) ), the show will go on.

    Just a little over a week now, looking forward to seeing you there.
