While he is great for the sport this olympics on the track will focus on him so much.
He is still the favourite to win both sprint events.
I just can't see him beating Blake in the 100m.

Can a mod set up a poll to see what the percentage is who think he will win?

I still think its set up for Bolt to win.

All the man has been talking about for the last two years is becoming a legend of the sport and in his eyes the only way to do that is to repeat his feats of Beijing.

It also sets it up nicely in terms of the defining of a legend. Its said that it is a great rivalry that makes an athlete attain legendary status. Bolt needs Blake to be running this well in order to make his achievements seem all the more great. he has fought the clock and won now he has a different target.

Perhaps its just me making more than it is but it just seems to be set up too perfectly for me to see past him despite his form so far this year (which to be fair hasn't been terrible but he has set the bar so high in terms of expectation)

Gatlin or Gay to win the 100m.

100m: Gay, Blake, Gatlin (Bolt and Powell to be below par or injured)
200m: Blake, Lemaitre, Spearmon

Gay is the only guy who can beat them if he was 100% but fact is he isn't 100%
Gatlin a championship performer (among other things)

Blake is my 200m pick. That's the finishing order I posted. I think Gay is back to 100%. We will see.

I've gone for Blake for both 100 and 200. I think he's inside Bolt's head now and that will do it for him. The way Bolt reacted after the Jamaican trials shows he was not happy at all. Not the reaction of someone confident of winning the big one on the day

Guys, for me, I just hope the big guns get out of the blocks fairly and none are DQd. Hate to be a pessimist, but I feel it is quite likely that one of the big four will false start. Possibly even before the final.

If Bolt gets out clean, similar to 2009 Berlin, then I think he wins this. Blake is the man to beat him.

I think gay is starting to look good again, if he can sort out his start now the rest seems to be there. Its just a matter of putting it together in 100m with the chance of DQ i took him at 9:1. But still think bold my do it.

I reckon he could sneak the bronze. He has flown under the radar the last while because he hasn't been clocking major fast times but he has been winning races (Bar the US Trials) I think he will go well

If they all get out clean I will back Gay to beat Galtlin. That is all I will say. I cannot lean with him to beat Blake and Bolt. But, who knows?

I doubt a WR will be run, and the false start rule is something that will affect this. We may not see the real real fast times of old. Surely in the future they can come up with some way of running this race without a false start rule. Some technology that prevents a runner starting until the guns goes off. Maybe hi tech traps?
