    Not the A group?

    Top ten or so lifters go in the A group otherwise it would take an age to let everyone lift together. Usually the lesser lifters lift in the B group (or C or D in worlds) unless your North Korean and don't give a sh1t about that.

    Usually for people who aren't good enough to medal(there are exceptions). It goes off your entry total

    It's a bit like heats in other events. It'd be too exclusive to only have a small no. of lifters per weight class.

    I'm actually surprised there aren't more groups given it's Olympic Weightlifting.
