USB Port clearification

I am thinking of buying a new laptop online! the lp comes std with 4 usb ports however 2 of the ports are USB 2.0 & 2 of the Ports are 3.0 what I am wondering is if my 2.0 USB DEVICES will work/compatable with USB 3.0 ports on the Laptop for example are the USB3.0 ports back ward compatable. any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, they are backward compatible. A USB2.0 hard drive will not work at USB3.0 speeds, in a 3.0 port, but it will work.
