I have been getting medication and paying for it for an illness covered under this scheme for some months past. It is only now i became aware of the scheme and was wondering is there any point to try and get a refund for what i have already spent. I am covered for future costs having complied with the required procedures.

In general you are only entitled to free medication from the date that your application is approved.
You may be entitled to tax relief on your medical expenses if you are a taxpayer. Check with your local tax office.
