Hi, i am thinking about buying a 04-05 Honda Accord 2.2 i-ctdi.. I was wondering has anyone had any experience with one? I've read a few things online about them having a issues, anyone know anything about this?

Its a toss up between that and an a4 1.9tdi at the minute.

Any advise would be appreciated, cheers.

The Accord is the better car of those two, no doubt. The 1.9 engine is reliable alright, but not great in other respects. The A4 is mediocre in terms of reliability. Suspension issues, electrical problems etc aren't uncommon. Honda diesel has had a known issue with the exhaust manifold cracking, but Honda extended the warranty on that one on cars with a full service history. As with any modern diesel, make sure the car has all the paperwork to show it's history, and ring the dealer that the book says it was serviced in to double check.

Bought an 07 2.2iCDTI back in May OP, and I've got to say I love it so far.Bearing in mind I'm coming off a Lexus GS300 - so the Honda has big shoes to fill.
A lot of car for the money too.

My daughter has a 08, a fairly recent acquisition. Super comfortable car to drive and to passenger in. For comfort, finish, reliability and toys (cream leather chairs, dash finished in walnut, thousands a yokes on the steering wheel) it has cars a couple of classes above it in price bet into a cocked hat. A deceptively big car inside, but boot only fit for smallish load (this is no Octavia). If you can get one with parking sensors, do.

I had that model for a couple of years and I'd recommend it alright. I'd have to say that the tax of ca. 950 euro became a real issue for me after the 2 years though.

It was a bit heavy if doing a lot of town driving too but probably no different than any car of its size I guess.

Actually it was lighter on diesel than the new model which I have now. I travelled an 80 mile round trip daily and it gave about 50mpg. The new model really struggles for 47-48mpg on the same trip. Few BHP more and a bit heavier I suppose.
