Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lads... Would you rather have grey hair or none?

Just for a bit of fun.

Apparently baldness runs in my family so I'm ****ed when I hit 30. It's even started now and I'm only 22 :( Another chap I know is 19 and has a full head of grey hair. So I was thinking, if you had to choose between no hair or grey hair, what would you choose?

I can see arguments for both:

    Grey...
    • Pros: distinguished silver fox look.
    • Cons: look way older than you are.

    Bald...
    • Pros: More aerodynamic, no need to style or worry about how your hair looks because you have none.
    • Cons: Colder scalp.

Would you rather be bald or have grey hair? 9 votes

I have a good bit of grey now and I don't give a monkeys bollocks to be honest.

I would go for a shaved baldy head before resorting to combing the remaining hair over though, were I destined to go that way.

Im going grey, I dont mind too much because either way, it's better than having hair the colour of a 1980's most flavoursome Monster Munch crisp.

    i.e - super ginger

How obvious is the answer to this question?

Grey hair can be dyed... bald hair is irrecoverable (almost, with surgery).

    Grey hair definitely.

Sure. It's your hair, do what you wish to it.

No hair or grey hair? But if I didn't like my grey hair I would shave my head and then have no hair... so grey hair?
Unless you mean to have a bald spot but still have colour in your hair. I would probably take the grey as I would skin my head if I went bald. And then if I didn't like the grey I would skin it.
I can't see none as a valid option in any situation.

    I'm a handsome bastard regardless.

Rightio, I'm going for the look of the last boss from Revenge of Shinobi for the Mega Drive.

    Bald is outdated.

    Didn't think of that. DAMN!

If you dyed it you could look like the guys on the Loreal hair-dye ads. Take this into consideration.

I see my going grey as my hair simply ripening.

If you had grey pubes would you prefer a baldy bollix?

I read that as ghandi and the question still made perfect sense.

Unless...! Dying it is not an option. In which case it's more complicated.

Personally I'd still rather be grey though. I could act like a complete tit and people would just say oh! never mind, he's just a genius professor.

Act like a tit when you're bald and you're in the same category as a scumbag walking a rottweiler which is wearing an Umbro tracksuit.

That was my thinking too. I guess it also depends on what suits you better. I'd look like a walking peanut if I was bald and I'd look like a paedophile if I had grey hair so either way I'm screwed.

Baldy balls are too uncomfortable. I'd go grey down there.

If you are grey baldness is just a shave away.

    Words of wisdom.

I started going grey when I was about 16, it never bothered me, have been bald a few times too, but I look like Grossberger from Stir Crazy with me noggin shaved, so I don't do it too often.

I've been going grey for the past few years - I'm 37 now and people say it give me a "distinguished" look. For "distinguished" read "old" IMO. It's at the "salt and pepper" stage now.

I don't think I would dye it though - too vain. But I would prefer to have grey hair over going bald any day.

    Grey
I shaved my head every morning for 10+ years & loved it...

My head is tattooed tribal Maori style, but is now covered by grey hair as my employers won't allow me to shave my head...my tattoos are "inappropriate"

I would love to go bald as they would no longer be allowed to force their discriminatory standards on me & my art work would once again be proudly displayed.

I'm going a bit light on top so now I shave my hair to number 1 level.
I like it that way now and think it is way better than trying to hide it with a comb over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,346 ✭✭✭King George VI

I'd shave my head before combing over! I suppose hair treatment is an option too.

Look at Rooney, he spent 30 k to look like a dead cat was stuck to his head.

Grey hair, hands down. Sure don't the ladies love that George Clooney fella? I don't hear them extolling the virtues of Jason Statham quite as loudly...
