Heating pipes

Can anyone tell me how deep central heating pipes are buried in the floor of a 1986 bungalow. Going to put in a new shower unit and would like to have it low level, which means having the waste pipe put into the floor. I don't want to hit a CH pipe!

just get stuck in to it break the hard floor on top and the rubble will peel away you will get the hang of it and if you dont just call a plumber he will fix the broken pipe for you

while your at it make the shower unit a "walk in shower" by doing away with any tray and sliding doors which can be hard to clean, just have a tempered shower piecce of glass instead, a bit more kangoing involved maybe but worth the hassle in the long run if its all possible, such as the fall on the wastepipe, the grade of the tiling etc. just a thought
