Anyone on here going ? Was just wondering about best options for return trip. Anyone with experience of Hannover and/or Hamburg and rail travel between them would be appreciated.

You can take a direct train from Amsterdam Airport to Hannover which takes around 4hrs and costs circa €30. Worth considering as there is not many options from Ireland to Hannover, besides Dussledorf or Hamburg, unless you catch a connecting flight in the UK.

    options are:

Dublin - Hamburg and then train, short enough distance and there are plenty of deals you can buy on the train fare.

Dublin - Standstead - Standstead - Bremen with Ryanair - again only an hour on the train and cheap flights to both destinations

When booking the trains there are tickets where 5 people can travel on the one ticket for €29.00 or so dependent on region.

Hannover IMO is a really lovely city. I would recommend you hire bikes and cycle out to the Herren Hausen Gartens and around the lake.
