N69 - Roadworks / re-alignment?

    Was driving out the N69 earlier and I noticed that they seem to have started some work at the bad bends on the far side of Kildimo.

    What's the plan here? Seems like they might be setting up to completely realign the road and remove the bends completely.

    Been quite a few nasty crashes over the past few decades on that bend. I know a chap whose car was written off whilst making one of the holes in the stone wall by the sharpest point of the bend when he got shunted by an oncoming car that totally overshot the corner.

    All my years passing that bend & only now on google streetview did I notice the little stone building at the bend, which I see is listed as "Sleepy Hollow" by google.

    Easily missed I suppose when that bend requires your eyes to be glued to the road!

    That place is much more overgrown now.
    You'd do well to spot it (whilst driving)
