I am planning to do the driving test in my own car, but of course as I have a learner's permit I can't drive alone. Am I allowed to drive to the test centre on my own - how else can I get the car there? :D

Are you allowed? No, it's illegal.

Does it make any difference to your test? No, your test only starts when you're called from the waiting room.

So what do other people do in this situation?

I drove down with my brother in the passenger seat!

People get lessons beforehand also, which would end when the test is about to start. Common sense really.

Some people might drive there on their own despite it being illegal and might clamp down on it at some point but its best to have someone with you. It be worth doing a pre-test lesson beforehand to help with the nerves and take note of mistakes beforehand. It be wise to have your instructor with you going to the test centre at least.
