Anybody know if this tool, has been taken down fro the internet http://spatial.dcenr.gov.ie/imf/imf.jsp?site=GSI_Simple

Used to find it really handy for measuring out stuff on the farm. haven't been able to access it online for the past few days.

    Maybe the link is changed?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Hope not. I'd say its only temporarily down. I used it about a week ago to see what silage ground we had so its only gone down in the last few days.

Can't find my farm using that, never mind measuring the length of a particular field, for figuring out how much wire I need for fencing etc,. Never been able to use it!! I must be thick:(

    Great stuff!

A lot of those type tools don't have satellite photos worth a damn for a lot of the country, just blurry blocks of colour

google maps updated our photos recently, now it's pretty much as good as the GSI one.

I hope the GSI one wasnt updated to the same imagery as the current dept maps. ours were newer this year, and taken on a much duller day than the previous ones, very poor quality.

    Bump,

    Hi All,

used to use this for measuring fencing distance etc http://spatial.dcenr.gov.ie/imf/imf.jsp?site=GSI_Simple

But now looks like the site has changed but I cant find a way to measure from aerial photos like I used to.

    Anyone still using it?

use daft logic ,it can do area ,distance and very handy when you are putting in a water system altitude

Daft logic uses google maps which doesn't have our farm in picture clearly like bing maps.
