Thomson UPC White Router and USB Storage

Does anyone know if it is possible to connect a USB HD to the white Thomson UPC router to use as a external backup for the computer? If possible would that drive be available over the net also to view files from away from home too? If not can someone recommend a QUIET network drive that would allow me do this?

The USB port on the modem doesn't currently support a storage function, unfortunately.
