    Hi folks
I am new to this and have been trying to troll through the previous threads so not to waste peeps time but no joy. Here goes- We live in Dublin 14, recently bought a samsung HD Flatscreen tv ue40d5020 1080p Full HD LED. 100Hz CMR. 4 x HDMI. Connect Share Movie USB x 2. AllShare DLNA, SAORVIEW ready. I have it connected to the basic package with NTL but want to go down the line of the satellite sub free box with the uk channells and Irish channells HD. what is the best option as the more I look into it the more confused i get between FTV, Soarsat, soarview, free sat freesat +... etc.
I would like one box that had all the above on it with one remote for the tele and one for the box max, 7 day programming, play and record functions etc like the sky box.
i would like to self install to save costs so all the advice is most welcome! Cheers

My self install is a Set up i got up north 45cm dish aligned myself using i phone app and a SD Grundig receiver, less than a hundred quid, HD receivers are more expensive but in my opinion apart from the olympics there is very little justification for HD yet due to the lack of content imho

7 day programming, play and record functions etc like the sky box.

    Not available ..

however as your tv is saorview compatible then a freesat box would be your best bet ,something like Humax foxsat

you this will not give you all the channels on one epg. (but the best compromise)
as you will have to switch between tv tuner and external stb.
