    Hey guys,

Myself and a friend mocked-up a new way to 'check-in' on social networks on Android.

    Check it out here
    http://chrisdermody.wordpress.com/2012/07/29/android-check-in-concept-check-in-and-share-across-multiple-networks-with-ease-9/

and let us know what you think.

    Thanks

Nice idea and looks very polished already .

Clearly you haven't thought this through, what if someone makes a social network with a grey scale logo? :p

I don't really bother checking in so I can't say I'd use it but the implementation is great. Does android actually allow you to use the notification area like that, entering text and stuff?

I don't really check in very often but this looks like a great way to do it. I'm surprised Google haven't clocked it themselves, the only reason I can think of is that the service owners want you to interact directly with their app.

I never really liked the idea of checking-in. Why people want to broadcast informative updates as to their location on a regular basis doesn't appeal to me. I think this feature targets the teenage generation more so?

But fair play anyway, its good to see people contributing stuff.
