Want to get a moped to travel to and from work but don't know what i need. Obviously i'll need a licence, but do i need to take a theory again? Plus where do I buy a good moped?

What licence have you and when did you get it? If you had a B since September 2006, they changed the rules in October, you have an M licence also. M is for mopeds, which are below 49cc and restricted to 45kph.

If you don't have M then you'll need to do everything theory, IBT and wait 6 months to do your test. If you have to start from scratch you're better off going for A, as opposed to A1 or M, as you can ride what you want on A once restrictions are finished.

Regardless of what licence you get. Do some training and buy the best PPE you can afford. Falling off at 45kph will make a mess of unprotected flesh.

just a tip where do you buy them - check adverts, donedeal, gumtree and before you make the "call" make sure you gonna have a person who knows a bit about bikes by your side. jsut to avoid future misunderstanding.

we are talking about very little money for a ncie scoot/moped 2005+ people are asking about 500-800€, cheap to run and cheap on insurance. but you also gonna need some basic gear. people thinks that scoot or ped needs only helmet - but you are the same member of traffic as guy on busa - so more you have better for you (no leathers needed ofc lolol) :)

    thanks
