    Hi
Does anyone know the specifics about Bus Eireann buses to/from AIT?

    ex:
-can I walk from Athlone bus station to AIT, or is it too long in bad (wet) weather? One one of earlier posts, someone mentioned a 15 min walk?
-Is there a shuttle bus service from Athlone bus station to AIT? I have tried to find info. on Flagline, but no joy.

I ask as, I can get a single (really) early-morning bus directly to AIT, or can take a later bus to Athlone Bus Station, which does not connect to AIT directly.

I have tried to make sense of the Bus Eireann site but confusing and contradictory information!
    Many thanks. :)

That walk is a bit of a nuisance until you're used to it, and I'd also say it's more a 20minute walk from the college to the station.

I'm not entirely sure which particular buses go directly to the station, but the town service is the 459. There's also a private bus service which seems to be more regularly used to get into town. I think it costs about €1 for a single trip to Golden Island, and you could walk to the station from there.

As far as I know, the Bus Eireann bus from the college to the station is roughly €1.50, someone else on here might be able to give you a better idea of the service though!

Just so you know, the bus stop is in Willow Park, not the college grounds. It's directly across from the college, beside the Daly's Apartments.

I'm not too sure about the buses as I don't live there anymore, but I can tell you that that walk from the station to AIT will take at least 25 minutes. Its just about doable on a dry day, wouldn't dream of it in wet weather.

Many thanks to all, still a few weeks away but wanted to get transport confirmed before the last-minute panic.
    Thanks again to both.

City Link have a stop directly at the college on the roundabout

Depending on where you're travelling from, some services stop and pick up from the front gate of the college. More info on this would help get you an answer...

Eg. The no. 78 (Blefast-Galway) stops and picks up at the station during the week and doesn't go past the college except coming back from up't North on Sunday evenings (Term time only, excludes bank holidays).
