    Hello all
I have three external hard drives to my Dell Inspiron running Windows 7
The two Omega 1.5 TB hard drives have been assigned names as HD AA (N) and HD BB (M). I use a program called Adobe Lightroom which is a cataloging system, which has assigned Caption and Exif Date ( As I am a freelance Photographer covering Sport ), to these drives . I have a total of about 122 K images from my work captioned on this system. For some reason overnight, those two drives mentioned above have swopped ID's an not the N Drive is M and the M drive is N !!! I have tried to reassign the original Drive letters to them but windows doesnt seem to allow it.. Now all my images are in the wrong drives and retrieval and future editing is almost impossible.. Could anyone assist as to how this has happened and what I do to re assign..? Many thanks to any help !!!

Is something else using the letters?

How have you tried to reassign them? Through windows disk manager I presume?

Just follow the steps here to access it, can't remember myself how to get there in 7. You can assign drive letters then.

    +1
But don't forget you will have to name one of the drives a random letter like "Q" and "R" then assign them the proper letters.
