Here's 2 foxes I got on wed night both shot with my .223 using remmi 50gr JHP. First one @ 120yds
    2012-07-25230924.jpg
Second one shot 200yds further up the road @ 80yds

Then I headed out last night to take a 22mag out for a test drive that I'm buying of a mate. Busted loads of bunnies out at one of my permissions. On the way home I always pass this field and last night I decided to stop and give it a shine. The field had just been cut and sprayed and sure enought 3 pairs of eye out at about 150yds. So I hit the deck hit the light and gave a wee squeak and they just cam running BANG BANG BANG one after the other. Furthest away 80yds. I thought I was all done after collecting the 3 I'd shot. When I gave a quick scan around the field i couldn't believe my luck a forth call it in to 120yds and BANG. when I got home I smelt like a tramps ball sack but thats what you get when rolling around in a field that not long been sprayed.

Its great to be back behind a rimfire again.

Nice going. how do you rate a mod on the WMR.. Hear they aren't worth it but a lot of people are saying different lately.

The lad who had the rifle before me had it threaded and had a parker hale on it. I have a .223 that has a wild cat on it. Both the threads are the same so I put it on just to see if there was a difference. You'd think such a big mod and such a small round it would be totaly quiet. I can say that there's not much of a difference. So I'd say to any lads out there if your WMR hasen't been threaded by a previous owner then then don't bother. Save your cash for lots of lovely ammo

Have to agree, it's a Magnum round, you can't stop the bullet from generating noise due to the speed it's travelling.

I've never shot charlie with a 22long so I wouldn't know. I know some lads on here would say its grand as long as you get them in close and do them with head shots. But then there will be others on here that would say the .22lr is to small and weak for charlie.

The hmr is a magnum round too though and is well worth the money for a mod.
The wmr is quiet compared to the hmr though.

I think this is probably down to the fact that the hmr rounds are 17gr (v-max) to the wmr being 40+gr. I do know you can get v-max in 22mag. I don't know what grain they are. But I haven't shot them with a mody on. Well not yet.

i shoot with 243 but i also have 22 magnum i use 50 grain federal great for bunnies have not use the 50 grain yet on charlie but 40 grain surely does the job if hit in the right place
