We are planning to get married next year in an intimate civil ceremony with just our immediate family. The next day we would like to have a big party for our extended family and all our friends and are looking for any suggestions/recommendations for a nice room catering for 150-200 people. The plan is evening party (maybe c. 6:30 start as we have a little daughter and would like to have some children at the start of the evening) and then on till late. We plan to have a DJ and would like to have maybe buffet or a wave of finger food spread out over the evening. My cousin had a wedding like this in glorious style in the Four Seasons in Dublin but that is WAY out of our price range!!! :D We want to have lovely food but without breaking the bank! The wedding will be in Dublin and we are really looking for a venue in the City Centre to suit both our families. Its the best option for us as my BF has a very small family, while mine is huge so its the fairest way to include everyone! Anyone done anything like this or any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated!! :)

Not many options for such a large number apart from the obvious hotels but try the pillar room in the rotunda, upstairs in harbourmaster and maybe tailors hall and anglers rest for lesser numbers.

Have you 150-200 confirmed? Cater for 30% no gos if you invite 200.

Check out bewleys Ballsbridge. Great room and hotel.
    The Weston.

We went to the evening of a wedding in Kettles hotel
It was lovely gorgeous proper dinner buffet.

Thanks for the suggestions! Numbers aren't confirmed at all yet but I have a pretty big family before we even think about friends work colleagues etc I think realistically we might have 120-150 invites and be strict on ourselves (i.e. me) re final numbers

Wondering if you got sorted with this search - thinking something similar ourselves?

how about Fallon and Byrne or the Westbury hotel, we looked at the westbury for our wedding we didn't go with it in the end but they were offering very competitive prices and its a lovely venue and great central location.
