Should Minecraft crash a lot?

    My son plays this and it seems to freeze a lot, its on an older laptop 2-3 years old. Is the game very demanding on a PC? or is there some chance he has some older launcher , does the launcher keep itself upto date? it also seems to crash more in single player mode
    Any ideas?

    The launcher keeps itself up to date automatically. And yes, it is demanding. What specs does his laptop have?

    looking at the graphics it didnt cross my mind , It doesnt play WOT very well so I know its not a great gaming machine

    It should run it alright as long as you have nothing else running at the same time.

    Go into the Video settings in game and lower the render distance, and change it from Fancy to Fast etc. It should improve his gameplay and lower the chance of it crashing.
