Last October I renewed by insurance with my husband as named driver. Last March he received an endorsement for driving a motor bike, we had paid for insurance on the bike however as he did not have the proper bike licence the insurance was invalid so now he has an endorsement as a result.

I need to buy a new car today and I know I have to disclose the endorsement however will I get in trouble for not contacting the company last March when he first received the endorsement.

dont know, probably not, only disclose on renewal ? your statements at time of taking out insurance were true ,also you have not been proved to be an increased risk for car driving so i dont see why it should effect your policy

If he has an endorsement on his bike licence then I wouldn't think you would have to tell a car insurance company. All the same, just mention it to them anyway because if you don't and something happens, his car insurance may also become void if the endorsement isn't declared.

You only have one licence, an offence on one vehicle affects everything you are licensed to drive.

OP you need to tell your insurance company of your husbands endorsement, technically you should have done it when he received it. On your policy documents it's part of the contract that you'll inform the company of any material changes, having a conviction for driving without valid insurance is a material change. What they will do or charge is unknown but your leaving yourself open to any claims being recovered from you.

Yes unfortunately the endorsement affects even his truck license. It was a bit of a nightmare, he already had the test booked for two after he got caught with no license. He was only driving the bike down to the mechanic to get a few things done. Ah well expensive lesson learned!!!!

I might be better just taking him off the policy when I'm transferring the insurance to the new car.

That would be a good call. They'd most likely null the policy.

    was it over restriction?

Not 100% sure what you mean about a restriction, it was just a standard bike not a large engine bike. However when you get bike insurance it is conditional that you have a provisional bike license unfortunately he didn't so his insurance was null and void.
