Anyone have any advice for what I appear to have - myofascial trigger syndrome in the shoulder joint - more specifically to posterior scapular area . I've gone to a doc , physical therapist and physio with no definitive answers except for stretches and some therapy work thats not helping .

I swim a fair bit and need the shoulders 'fixed ' before training proper restarts .

    :(

It sounds like you've been diagnosed with trigger points in your shoulder! If this is the case & your physiotherapist & physical therapist haven't been able to relieve it they're either really bad at what they do or you're not following the rehab/prehab they should be giving you.....if they're any use!
Neuromuscular therapists are trained mainly in treating trigger points!

Swimmers usually suffer with Subscapular problems, you can self treat here & the rest of the shoulder self treatment here

There is also plenty of rehab info if you look for it! Good luck :)
