car derived vans importing

hi all im on the lookout for a mk5 golf van with low milage,and f.s.h proving hard to get in roi,what if i imported a 3dr mk5 golf car from england,can i turn into car derived van and pay 200e vrt or have to vrt as car then turn into van and if so how do i do this? thanks

I think it's 13.5% on car/vans.

Can you still convert them though? I can't see it being worthwhile anyway financially apart from getting more spec

the thing is i want low mileage and full service history

You can convert them but there is vrt @ 13.3% plus the cost of transport and conversion means its very expensive van.
