radiator valve

    i have a bleed valve on a downstars rad that is leaking not excessively but constant all the same.in there any way of removing the valve without having to bleed the whole system?if not would a blob of silicone over it do?

    Are we thinking the same thing. Is this the blead valve for emptying the system. You wont seal it by blobbing it but is there a chance that a bit of grit is just caught in it. You can chance opening and closiing it a little more.

    If it's the bleed valve that's leaking then just close both the flow and return valves and repair the leaking bleed valve (or radiator if it comes to that).
