A know this has come up before, but I cant find the thread/post - does anyone have a link to instructions for making your own aerial out of a piece of coaxial cable?

    Thanks

Simplest (TV aerial for UHF analogue or Digital)

Take coax and strip off 13cm of outer insulation.

now wriggle back the braid (remove foil if present) so that it's about 13cm back over the outer insulation leaving 13cm of inner insulation with inner core.

This is what most WiFi aerials are (except they are about 2cm long!).

You can put a plastic tube 27cm long to make it look nicer.

    Hi Watty.

Could that be adapted to a portable radio / cassette?

Thanks, perfect. I'm in a good reception area but for some reason the little aerial I had been using was causing me problems. Ran the coax behind the rim of the TV and its working a treat!
